    ok i just bought a dazzle capture card for my 32in hd vizio, and i want to record my ps3 when playing video games in HD. my regular red white and yellow cables dont work, so i bought a s video cable and that doesnt work either, no video showed up on my mac laptop.

    so i cant record my gaming in HD? if i cant i wanna take my dazzle back, i dont wanna play in SD

    Composite (red, yellow, white) connections and S-Video connections can only provide SD resolotion. Connections capable of providing HD resolutions are Component (red,green,blue) and HDMI.

    I don't know of an external capture device for an Apple laptop that can do what you want. The Blackmagic Intensity or Intensity Pro are the only devices I have seen for OS X that can record in HD via HDMI, but they are internal capture cards.
