    Hi I just tried opening Scooby.Doo.SVCD.TS-Centropy with VirtualDub and I got the following message:

    "MPEG Import Filter: pack synchronization error"

    Any idea what this means and what I can do to correct this problem...?

    Also...I have attempted to convert an avi file (Master Of Disguise (2of2).avi) to an mpg-1 file but I keep getting a message that TMPGEnc cannot handle this file...any tips or ideas on what to do with this ...?

    I thank you for your help and patience with this newbie...

    Sounds like you have some missing codec's, download and install the Nimo codec pack

    "Scooby.Doo.SVCD.TS-Centropy" that’s an SVCD mpeg, Vdub cannot open those

    The freeware TMPGEnc can convert SVCD, or if you have TMPGEnc Plus 2.57, you will need a SVCD codec, one is installed when you install Power DVD 4
