  1. I have progressive audio lipsync problem with video capture using miro
TV card. I tried every possible "trick" (and setup options) to solve this but nothing help.
Problem is enormous especially if I capture vith VirtualDub (any version - I tried 1.3c, 1.4.9, 1.4.10 ...) - lipsync is over 6 seconds at start (first audio delay) and then become smaller and smaller and in one point met
picture and then goes again (audio start to be "in front" of video). Everything is setup right in all VirtualDub otpions that are related to this ...

I also tried capture with Vidcon32 - little tool I get with TV card and
results are better (not 6 seconds like in VirtualDub but 1 or 2 second delays) but still progressive (become larger and smaller after some time like in VirtualDub).

I use 1GHZ PC with 128 MB RAM and 20 GB HD (defragmented and with DMA). There is no additional programs in the background that may produce any mess with capturing. I tried capture with uncompressed mode (full frames as they come from TV card) in 320x240 and with audio 44,1 (and even less frequency) but nothing helps.

Also, newer versions of VirtualDub also misteriously produce tons of
skipped frames (in internal capturing mode) and framerate rapidly
decrease during capturing (due to AV synching which produce lipsync).
In AVICap/compatible mode things are better but lipsync still occurs
and splitting to files < 2GB does not work so it is not usefull ...

Is there any solution to capture correctly and in A/V syncrhonisation ?
Also, is it possible to sync audio and video latrer somehow (changing
frametrate in VirtualDub does not help at all ) ?

  2. I've seen that tutorial but I didn't tried it because lipsync in my case is "sinusoidal" - by this I mean that first, there is delay that become smaller and smaler and in one moment fits to video and then again start to lipsync ... I will try with this method but I am pesimistic

Does anybody know reason why this occurs and how to solve during capturing ?

wow - that is some bad syncing problem ..
here are some things to try:

    increase memory
dont use win xp or win me - use win2k my first choice.
    DEcrease page file size.
    put miro in different slot
disable your onboard sound card or remove it ..

I use WIN98 ... I will try with different slot for now. ALso, I can't remove soundcard becasue I need sound in captured material

BTW, sugessted method helps but not always (I manage to fix in one clip while in other, lipsync cant be fixed ). Problem is in captured video that is finaly not in 25 like I setup (without dropped frames - VirtualDub wont capture in more than 18fps and TV card tool I used do in 20fps - it just simply reduce fps I set to 25 ?!)

Also, I tried several programs from TOOLS/CAPTURE pages and only VirtualVCR can capture smooth video in (relative) sync with audio - but it capture in 29.9 and not in 25 fps like I want (again ) ...

I am sure some other capture tool will do the job better and sync AV in corect fps - any suggestions ?

  6. You mean, I need another HD for capturing (one for OS and another for capturing) ?

Hm, curently I can't get another HD - is there any other way to solve this with one HD (some tweaking with OS or something) ?
