I have converted nearly all my avi SImpsons episodes (all in avi, actually 2 in mpg) to vcd format, using tmpg, i get poor quality (worse than onTV) out of them, I dont know what settings to change, I load the VCD template for them, what can I do for better quality *NOTE* I dont care how long it takes to convert either, school has started back ( and I just leave comp on while I am there. Settings Suggestions apprectiated, thanks *NOTE* EVen the mpg files gave me poor quality so I know it isnt just because they are compressed avi files, thanks again in advance

  2. Sounds to me like the original quality is poor - and you can't do anything about that.

    Yes, those sources are usually pretty bad. To minimize loss, increase the bitrate of the VCD encode or do a SVCD encode. Make sure the bitrate of the encode at least matches the bitrate of the avi.
