  1. Ripped a DVD with DVD2SVCD, and it created 2 mpegs, 2 Bin files and 2 Cue files, I burned a SVCD using the mpegs in Nero, and the result was very good, apart from losing me chapters, but I just wondered what the Bin/Cue files were for, and would I be better using them ?

I've tried VCDEasy, but it doesn't have a driver for my Lite On burner, and the Generic one didn't work

    Any help gratefully received.

  2. I have a LiteON 32X and use VCD Easy with the generic-mmc-raw driver with no problems.

The bin file contains an image of the CD you are going to burn and the cue file tells the copier how to burn them (track sizes etc..)

You can either use CDRWin or Fireburner or get hold of Daemon Tools and do a CD to CD copy with any copier. I've used Nero several times with this method no problem.

VCDEasy is finicky for me on XP, CDRDAO works one day, doesn't work the next, then works the next. Upgrade to the latest version and try different versions of VCDEasy (1.0.8, 1.0.9) when your current version isn't working. All else fails try TSCV if you definitely want chapters.

Can you Burn Bin/Cue's with Nero ?

    Yes you can.
File->Burn Iamge->Select Cue file and away you go.

  5. Older versions of Nero, (not sure which one's though) can also burn bin/cues even though they don't say so. Just choose file -> burn image. Go to the appropriate directory, if the cue file doesn't appear type *.cue into the file name and select the cue. Should burn with no problem, a nice undocumented feature of old copies of Nero.
