  1. i was told nero can make an exact copy of a vcd movie using the original blank cdr burned to a vcd . but my question is will it make an avi copy just to play on the pc media player or will it make a vcd copy to play on dvd player. i tried the copy to copy function with nero and it wouldnt go thru.

    A bit confused about the question, but if I read it correctly, yes you can make a copy in Nero. I've found (that's just me) that a copy craps out on me, but if you do a Data burn, then a simple drag and drop works out fine.

    What do you mean by wouln't go through. Please give the exact msg.

    No attempt at conversion should take place.
    Its as simple as the old floppy to floppy diskcopy

    did you use the force raw reading option.

    Put the original in your PC DVD player (if you have one)
    and a blank in your writer.

    Then select the source of the input data under copy options after you click on CDCOPY in the wizard window.

    If you only have the writer then you may have to create an image of the VCD on your HD first.

    REMEMBER YOU WANT CDCOPY from the WIZARD

    It should just create and exact duplicate of what is on the original.

    It is possible that copy protection is on the VCD and Nero won't copy it.

    In that case look for any other app that writes raw data and won't check the disk. If you can get a raw image made then it can be burned back from the image fileand should work.
