  1. Hi,
I have several mpg's that I want to burn to VCD. I am running a Dell laptop with and internal cd writer.

My version of EZ CD Creator doesn't have the "create video CD" function. So I am trying third party apps.

I started trying to use VCDEasy but it wouldn't work because it wants ASPI drivers running on my machine. The burner isn't using an Adaptec card or drivers so the software won't play nice.

Next I tried converting the mpg's to bin's. VCDImagerGUI doesn't like the mpg's and won't convert to bin.

Next I read that Nero will try to fix the mpg's but this fails also.

I am able to play the mpg's just fine in Windows Media Player.

    Can anyone help?

    Johnny

This sounds like a typical problem with MPEG.

There's not just VCD compatible MPEG files, but also SVCD (mpeg2 files) and DVD (mpeg4).

I would try to convert the file into a VCD mpeg using TEMPEnc. Convert it to VCD of youre choise, and pick input file to be your original MPEG.

    This might work

    @ frawst1

Install ForceAspi 1.7 (from Doom9) on your machine and VCDEasy will work (then select your appropriate driver for cdrdao, normally one of the generics)

What format do your mpgs have?
    If they are vcd conform or similar (little different bitrates but not resolution) burn as vcd (maybe non standard);
if they are svcd conform or similar burn as svcd (maybe also non standard for higher bitrates and/or resolution).

Your mpg need not to be repaired.
Mabe load it into bitrate viewer and give us the summary info ...

    regards

Only a few of the mpg's I have were able to be repaired by TMPGenc. I don't know what the formats are. They are just mpg's I got off the net and play fine in Windows Media Player. The burn programs work fine, but I have to fix the issue with the mpg first.

Where can I get bitrate viewer?

  6. What do you mean "info.txt?" I just downloaded the movies by themselves. Nothing was included.
