I have converted most of my DVDs to SVCD and VCD without any major problem, however I tried to convert my first NTSC DVD to Pal, but unfortunatly things aren't going too smoothly.

From what I can tell the DVD is NTSC 29.97fps interlaced

    Any one have any thoughts?

    Best Regards

  2. 1. Read up on TMPGEnc. There's more good info out there than I can recall.
    2. Get TMPGEnc at http://www.tmpgenc.net
    3. Check out the SVCD (PAL) conversion settings file which can be loaded.
    4. Get TMPGEnc to read the DVD .vob files
    5. Convert using the SVCD (PAL) settings

The main thing is to convert the video into PAL format which is among other things (I may be mistaken here, bad memory) 25 fps, 480x576. The SVCD (PAL) settings file should be all set for it. I suggest just converting the video stream by itself, encoding the audio in another program and muxing the two together afterwards. TMPGEnc doesn't handle audio that well.
