  1. First, I want to say thanks for all who helped me through the subtitle situation. I now got it and it is easier than I thought. THANK YOU ALL

    Now get this: I dl K-PAX [DVD Divx] -720x480 - 685MB.avi

I went to encode it through TMPEG and it says "file*.avi cannot open or unsupported". So, I tried to open it in virtualdub, IT tells me:

Couldn't locate decompressor for format 'DX50' (unknown)

Virtualdub requires a video for windows (VFW) compatible codec to decompress video. DirectShow codecs, such as those used by Windows Media Player are not suitable.

When I try to open it in Windows Media Player all I get is one of the skins to come up. No video or audio. If I slide the position to the end of the movie I hear some sound.

    Any help or suggestions???

    Thanks in advance,
    gmpman
