I have been ripping for a while with Smartripper, DVD2AVI and TMPGEnc. This weekend I tried to rip a foreign film, thus, I need the English subs. Is this possible with those software elements, or do I need a different program?

This guide has a relatively simple way to rip and encode with subtitles...I don't know what format you are trying to rip to but if you are going DVD to DivX...then check this out... http://forum.vcdhelp.com/userguides/78732.php
It is a simple box that you check within DVDx 1.7
Let me know how it goes for you...I will be attempting that as well eventually. I have had horrible audio/video synch issues with that guide, however the author seems fairly confident about its infallibility.
