  2. 1. Virtualdub - audio menu, Volume option and you can adjust the level
    2. TMPGEnc - Settings, audio, Audio Edit - allows you to adjust the levels and also allow you to normalise.

Otherwise use Virtualdub to save audio as Wav and use your choice of wav editor (say Goldwave) do alter it.

  3. Sorry to be juvenile but how do I adjust in Virtualdub? do I copy the file with direst stream copy, with an adjusted volume level? and does this work with a file that sound is in mp3?

  4. Yes you copy with direct stream copy. Just use the Audio menu to alter its volume. If you are going to encode the AVI using TMPGEnc I suggest you use it as it is simpler.

If you have an mp3 (ie not multiplexed in a AVI file) then use either TMPGEnc or an audio editor like Goldware and I think BeSweet, toolame and others
