ok here is the problem,I have been working at this for 3 days, and I think i am at the last step.
I dl brotherhood of the Wolf for a deaf friend and am trying to put subtitles in. I worked through all of the missing filters for subtitles and actually had to stray from the tutorial and convert my subs from .srt to .ssa because of the filter I downloaded.
When I load the subs and then preview in virtualdub, everything works fine and I can see the subtitles, so I know I am close. I have saved the audio uncompressed as a .wav to use later in TMPGenc.
I have installed the handler, and when I select file>start frameserve, the box comes up and it says avi only, like it is supposed to and I click on start but then.......
Nothing happens. All of the values remain at zero, and all I get is a 1KB avi file. I have searched for frameserve at the search button at the top of the page and saw something about a msvrc70.dll file. Do I need this? If so where do I put it? Is TMPgenc supposed to open when I click "start"??
Please help as I am getting frustrated as I am sure some of you did when you first started. Thanks in advance for the help.....
BTW I am running Windows 2000 professional, P3 850, 640 meg RAM.

Your supposed to load TMPGEnc yourself, and then that 1kb file you got from starting the frameserver, load IT into TMPGEnc and go from there.

TMPGenc gave me a message saying the vbr/cbr would create a 12117 ms seperation from the audio and the video. All of the links on here said to save the audio uncompressed to use later
