VCD sound lag via Nero

I have been creating VCD's with Video Studio and TMPGEnc and then I go to burn it as a VCD via Nero - I get this far - it all burns well - and then when I play it there is a terrible time lag - this has worked in both cases of using just Video Studio 5 to make the VCD and when I just use TMPGEnc....should I be doing something with the settings?

The VCD's play like old bruce lee movies - the actor speaks then the sound comes accross a second or two later???

I like old bruce lee movies, so after you made the .mpg did you play it ?

Yes, it played fine - its when I burn it that it goes all "brucee" on me.
