Just burn it as CD-ROM. A codec is only necessary if you want to compress or decompress (playback) the video.

I JUST WANT TO BURN IT ON A BLANK CDR ON NERO TO PLAY ON DVD PLAYER IF I CHOSE BURN AS VCD WILL IT DO THAT OR ARE THERE ADJUSTMENTS I HAVE TO MAKE?

DON'T SHOUT WE ARE NOT DEAF
Nero does not do a very good job at converting AVI's to Mpeg1 (VCD format)
First to be safe you need to load the AVI into Vdub and scan for bad frames, if there are none found you can then move on to TMPGEnc
TMPGEnc
Load the AVI (Browse)
Then hit the Load button and load in a VCD template (PAL or NTSC) for your country.
Select file output location and name...
Click start
The output will be a fully compliant VCD which Nero will love (make VCD)
This is very brief there is a lot more to this. You may need to come back and ask more questions, or it may work first time -
Then why say its a DivX ?
How did you burn the other bin files, no diffrence with this one. -
i ask only because the other files i burned were svcd bin and cue this one is a divx bin and cue thats why im confused. but if you say it doesnt matter then fine this movie is 27 files i cant believe thats the entire movie is divx some type of compressed format? also the quality must be real crap i assume it says TS-divx

hi....I'm new to this forum but not to the DIVX scene.
first off
if you want to get the avi to burn to svcd or vcd
you need to burn the cue and bin to a cd
1) run nero and load the cue file -Click "File" then go down to "Burn Image"
2) select the cue file you want to burn.
3) once nero loads the cue file it'll come up with a "Write CD" box
4) Insert cd into cd burner drive and Click on Write
5)a) it'll write the cd for you
b) once it's done you SHOULD have the avi burned to that cd.
6) copy that said avi file to your drive for faster access and faster conversion.
after that you need to convert the avi to vcd mpeg file(s)or svcd mpeg file(s)\
click on the left side of this screen where it says CONVERT and follow
the instructions on how to convert divx to VCD-SVCD
everything you need from that point should be explained in the guides.
enjoy! -
the movie was not bin and cue after it extrated it was a avi file the movie is 2hrs 17 min it plays on PC but its `1214 megabites when i tried burning it on nero it was going thru encoding motion but it will take forever to encode it and by the time thats finsihed i know an error will come up saying file is too large 700. mg is all it can take or maybe a slight overburn to 800. nero is not the type of program that will tell you will need 2 cds to burn the movie it will just not burn at all if file is too large. i could prob burn it as a data file but who needs that i want to play it on dvd player

go to the section I mentioned on "how to convert avi to vcd or svcd mpeg"
and follow the guide
the AVI movie needs to be converted
before you can burn it to a disc to watch in on dvd player
dvd players don't support divx(avi)
here is the page you need

You need to load the AVI into Vdub, and scan for junk frames, hopeful you wont have anyif you do then you need to delete them before you can move on to make them into a mpeg1.
Assuming there are no bad frames, an no audio problems, you can now load the AVI into TMPGEnc, then load a VCD template (PAL/NTSC) depending on your country. Then hit start
After the mpeg1 has been made, you need to look at the size, if its too large for 1 CD, you need to split it in half. Again you can use TMPGEnc with File > Mpeg tools > Merge cut
The you can burn each one to a disk with Nero as a VCD
