I have a divx compatable standalone dvd player and have tried burning divx and avi movies direct to dvd but they wont play on my dvd player, it says ´no disk. The dvd player can play these files from my usb stick so why not from a dvd. I am burning the dvd disks with windows media player 11.

Can someone explain what I am doing wrong? I really dont have to time to convert them all the dvd format and bought my dvd player so as not to have to convert everything.

Maybe you are making a multisession disc. Try close the disc or use another burning tool like CDburnerXp and don't make any multisession, close it and use ISO/UDF mode.

download something like deepburner free and just burn a regular data disc.

windows media player should be avoided at all costs.

if you cant download deepburner free just use windows disc utility to burn a divx file as data to a disc.
    works for me everytime

windows media player is junk...... (imo)

    www.deepburner.com/?r=download

    choose version 1.8 free version

when u start the program select 'data disc' and 'no multisession' as the program starts, i used this program for three years, its brilliant.

also check that your dvd player plays dvd + and or dvd- and check which you are trying to burn. I made this error on my friends pc which only burns dvd+ and I use dvd - and + , It took four attempts to discover my F*** Up!

you can always burn a typical 700MB avi file to CDr, this should play in a divx dvd player too. Works for me,

MP4 dvd players are a godsend!
