Hello, I am trying to cut the credits off of an .avi ("What Lies Underneath") so I can fit it onto a CD-R. But when I open it in VirtualDud I get the following error:
" Couldn't locate decompressor for format 'Mpg4' (Microsoft High-Speed MPEG-4)
VirtualDub requires a Video for Windows (VFM) compatible codec to decompress video. DirectShow codecs, such as those used by Windows Media Player, are not suitable. "
It also has similar errors if opened under different apps. Does anyone know where I can download this codec. I tried different sites, but was unable to find exactly what I needed.
Thanks in advance
Mike

Download and instll the Nimo codec Pack. If that doesn't fix it, then it is likeley because it is a MS proprietary codec not supported by Non MS apps.
P.S. If you have win ME or XP you should be able to do this in MS MovieMaker
