I now own three devices (iPod Video/Samsung P2/Samsung Instinct) that I transfer video to in the MPG4 format. I use KeepVid to grab videos from YT, and then use Relay Converter to transfer to MPG4. In the past couple of days, while transferring to MPG4, my computer turns itself off close to the completion of conversion. I've tried uninstalling/reinstalling the programs I use, including Quicktime, to no avail. I've even disabled my screensaver thinking that might have something to do with it. I'm at my wits end (no smart remarks here!), so if anyone has any ideas what could be causing these shutdowns; I would be greatly appreciative. :)

  2. Overheating is one possibility.

Check the Heat sink & fan assembly on the CPU and if the Chipset on the Mobo or Video card have fans check them too. If your computer details are accurate they are probablt in need of service. Also check the Power supply fan is working.

If when you turn on the cold computer you hear noises that go away as it warms up? That is a sign of one or more fans going bad.
