  1. I want to remove the subtitles from a dvd i have. What can i use to do this? I saw that subtitles can be removed using virtualdub. How do i convert my ripped dvd to avi so i can use it in virtualdub? Is there another program that would be better for this? Thanks.

  2. check out doom9.net's guides on ripping subs. they have a link to a neat little program called SubRip that did great things with my evangelion dvds.

  3. I think trooper wants to remove some hard-encoded subtitles on his DVD rather than add them onto his S/VCD.

If you use DVD2AVI, you use it to frameserve... usually to an MPEG encoder (e.g., TMPGEnc). However, you can frameserve to VirtualDub first, apply the appropriate filter (note: adam's post here http://www.vcdhelp.com/phpBB/viewtopic.php?topic=36872&forum=4 ), and then frameserve from VirtualDub to your MPEG encoder.

    Regards.
