Hi i had 2 drives on my computer so far a dvd writer and a cd-rw. I want to buy a dvd-rom drive for ripping my movies becuase currently i'm using my dvd writer which is only 6x read and is very slow. I have space for one more drive but the ide cable to connect them together has only 2 ends - 1st drive 2nd drive and then connects to the motherboard. Do i have to buy another cable or something? I dont know to much about upgrading computers. can you please help me out. One more question can you give me some advice on which dvd-rom drive i should get?

  2. Answer for question 1:I would put DVD-ROM on end(master)of IDE cable
and DVD writer on middle(slave),the reason is media players prefer this.
Answer for Q 2:Cyberdrive or LG is what I would buy(approx.$50 US)

Middle(slave) connector on the IDE cable your HDD(master) is on.Or
if you have usb 2.0 you could buy an external DVD-ROM.
