Does anyone know of a way to tweak the Windows 2000 Professional registry, to choose a particular playback codec? The Ligos mpeg codec that comes with Ulead VideoStudio causes cracking and hissing, but the standard codec that comes with Windows Media Player performs just fine.
After VideoStudio is installed, Media Player uses the Ligos codec, by default.
