i didnt understand anything of hat post, if you mean if you can solder if yourself then the answear is: that depends on you you got som soldering experience? if you are getting a sbox/neo key its easy but its safer to give it to a store adn let thm do it, if you are getting a messiha wich is 40 wires+ then give it to a store

no what i mean is can i take my ps2 with the mod chip i bought and have someone at gamestop install it for me. But i passed by there already and they told me you have to have someone privately do that. I have no experience with this and dont want to screw it up. Where can i go to have the mod chip installed for me??

I think that mod chips are in that grey area with file sharing.
Stores don't want to be promoting "illegal" activity. THe game companies hate mod-chips and if they found out Jim's Store was installing them, they might pull their games from Jim's Store. -
fins some other store to mod it for you or just tell them you want to play imports

nation wide streos like GameStop, EB, Software Etc, and other nation wide stores will not install mod chips in your PS2..i suggest is going around ur area and find a import store which isint well known around the country and ask them in there if they install mod chips...if they do ur lucky....but if they dont sorry...then i suggest u hire somebody with soldering experiance maybe ur unlce or somebody u kno
