I have done several VCD's with FlaskMPEG and Nero. I just get a new ac3-amplifier and start wondering if it is possible to made VCD or SVCD (never done any SVCD) with dolby digital sound? it is, right? so how much more space it takes? one standard VCD is 74/80 minutes audio and video. how much less with 5.1? I don't need better video resolution just want that 5.1 sound. and if I make VCD/SVCD with 5.1 sound does realmagic play it?

  2. Hi,

VCD does NOT support Dolby 5.1
SVCD's however have something simular toe Dolby Digital 5.1, it called MPEG 5.1. Only problem is that almost none of the currently available DVD-players decodes the extra MPEG audio channels. I wouldn't use this format, since it is so pourly supported.
