Svcd to AVI

I have an SVCD disc with the usual avsq file, I am trying to extract it to an AVI using DVD2AVI it tries to read the first couple of seconds then locks up. When I try to copy it with NERO it comes up with continual messages of errors then locks up again, at the start it says this disc is copyrighted, I have the disc 1 of the pair this has the same message but copied fine, any ideas??.

First you must ripp the SVCD to MPeG.
Then you can open this MPeG in VDub to recreate a new AVI of it.
