    Ok.....well so far i think i kind of got how to play .avi's on my mac but dont know how to do with .asf. is there an codec for this i mean can i just turn it into an .avi or mpg?. this is really kik 'n my ass. oh and by the way what would be the best codec for avi's right now im using 3ivx decoder for mac os x?????

  3. As far as i know Microsoft will sue anyone who tries to build a asf conversion program. Bad luck. That's why we all should ignore ASF and use Quicktime or AVI instead.

    Hey....don't know much about macs ...but on my PC I use the older version of VirtualDub (1.3c) it was the last to accept asf files and convert them to avi's. Before the Gates Police cracked down on peps.
    If it will help ...I'll dig up a link to an old version.

    Just wait, ffmpeg may be a promising solution, but it seems that it needs wma support first...so just wait.
