  1. Hi Everyone
    I had a problem with floating decimal and some nice person helped me solve that,I went into tmpgenc enviromental settings and changed the priority of direct show as told, then i tried to encode again, this time the video still froze at 70% but the audio carried on ok till the end of the movie.
    I went into media player and the avi has a few a few bad frames at about 70%, but it carries on and plays ok till the end.
    Can anyone tell me what to do next please.
    I looked on the forum and found a similar problem,so I downloading v dub but it told me my angel potion codecs wouldnt work. so i didnt go any further.( as I dont really understand it)
    I really am stuck,
    Please Help

    First of all uninstall the SMA (Angel Potion) codec, its nothing but trouble. Next load the AVI into Vdub and scan for bad frames like this;

    load AVI into Vdub and scan for bad frames.
    Video > Scan video stream for errors
    Video >Direct Stream Copy and
    Audio > Direct Stream Copy and
    SAVE AS, save out another copy of AVI

    If Vdub gives you a problem during scan, use "vdub-mp3-freeze.exe" downloaded using Kazaa, this makes a list of bad frames at c:\badframes.log which you can use to delete the first block of bad frames, then re-scan.

    If you have a codec missing, Install the Nimo codec pack.

    Now that the AVI is junk free, load into TMPGENC.
    Select options > environmental settings
    click the VFAPI plug-in tab
    right click the "DirectDraw" and select higher priority, do this several times until its at the top with a value of 4

    Now all should be fine for conversion
