  1. I hve been using the following hardware till now:
    - ECS K7S5A Lan Sound
    - Athlon xp1700+
    - 512MB PC133
    - AGP Voodoo 3000
    - DV500+
    - AHA-2940U
    - SBLive! 5.1
    - WinTV

This however isn't wokring with XP with programs such as TMPGEnc en Cinemacraft. (IRQL_... bluescreens en instant reboots). These problems also showed with a clean XP install with only the SCSI card, the DV500+ and the Voodoo 3000. So I think the problem's in the Voodoo 3000.

Now I'm planning to buy a ECS KVTA3 (Via KT333 chipset). What videocard do you recommend (low price, I'm not going to play games). I will keep on using the DV500+ and the AHA-2940U and the SBLive! if possible. The WinTV isn't necessary anymore. It must be fully compatible with XP.

Is the Club3D Nvidia MX400 a working one?

I have a similar setup with K7S5A with tbird 1100 512MB of PC133 with Gforce2Ti. This machine has been very stable for encoding with TMPGenc 2.55. I expect you problems could be with the voodoo card or drivers, do you have an alternate card to try?

Have you tried running without the capture card and/or SCSI card. It might not be just the Voodoo but a combo of cards.
If you are buying a new card you can pick up a current generation nVidia or ATI based card for your needs for >$100 or a Gforce2 or 3 card for less and still get good results for vid playback and play the occasional game.
