I need a program that can cut MPEG2 while actually showing me where it's cutting - not doing blind time based cuts (like bbMPEG) TMPG would work if it actually cut where it showed it was, GOP is fine but I need to be able to see where the actual cut is.
M2-Edit seems like the best potential cutter, but seems like a hefty price paying for all the other edit functions that I couldn't care less to use.

If you don't use the "I<<" and ">>I" buttons in TMPGEnc Cut/Merge facility and just play the mpeg till you come to the cutting point (and then mark the cutting point), then press correct afterwards, you should find that the cutting points are pretty accurate.

that wont even work for me!
i cant play it or do anything.
get dvtools
it works great but you have to do some math.
like dividing your movie in mb in half.
