Hello everyone, I've got a question. I am looking to get a computer-based pvr (personal video recorder) setup to replace my replay tv. First of all, do the computer based products really work as good as a dedicated unit like a replay or tivo? However, this is what I really want to do: Record shows automatically (divx encoded) like my replay, watch them, then pop the divx file to cd to archive.
Am I dreaming? Is this even possible? I don't want to spend a lot of time re-encoding, because i'm sure that would drag down any current recordings that will be going on. My specs will be: Asus board with Athlon XP 1800 and 512 megs of ram along with a 7200 rpm drive with 80 gig running WinXP Pro along with whatever capture card you tell me will be good. Also, will this look any good outputted to a normal tv?
Thanks a million!![]()
