  1. Trying to convert an .asf file (2hrs long) to .avi with "ASF Tools v2.30.
During conversion the log gives this error :

    Opening C:\WINDOWS\Rips\movie.asf

    Frame rate set to:15.08364
    Frames added for A/V Sync:708, 0.7% of Total:100520
    File Closed.

The avi converts but suffers A/V synch problems (severe)

If I try to repair the file with ASF Tools (advanced repair tab) and select to fix bad blocks (tried on all repair options), it repair but when I convert it to MPEG with TMPEnc v12a and a few others, the sound drops after 48 minutes and TMPEnc doesn't hang but the remaining time goes up to 12hrs.

If I select standard repair in ASF Tools, then it auto trims the length to 48 minutes (presume this is where the bad chunks begin).

Does anyone know of a workaround or any util that will sucessfully repair this file....thanks in advance

Did you know the latest version of TMPGEnc will except ASF files

Well Install the Nimo codec pack to make sure you have everything it needs. TMPGEnc will handle bad frames (Sometimes)

  3. Thanx KingJohn, will give it a try as TMPGEnc won't accept Audio past 48 minutes...
