  1. I am using TMPGEnc to encode to SVCD, i select the Super Video-CD - NTSC Film template. I setup the options as i want them - 16:9 display, etc... but when i watch the output MPEG, it's not in widescreen?! why? does the program hate me or something? it looks like the output mpeg is actually in regular display (4:3?).
I'm going crazy over this! so someone please try to help!
    Thanks!

  2. in TMPGEnc click settings then advanced tab, now select full screen (keep aspect Ratio) from the drop down menu just above the resolution. Do about a minute or so enoded then run it through your dvd player software, see if that works.

see this picture to see what I mean. (ignore the ticked boxes, I'm in the middle of encoding)

or you could double click clip frame under advanced in the settings to see a preview of what the output will be. pic (ignore the stretched image it will not look like that when you have encoded it) it it works it should look like the pic but the out come will be proper soze widescreen.

  3. Ok, i figured out what the problem was... it was Windows Media Player...
I had those settings that the previous post mentioned, and in Windows Media Player, it DID NOT show the film as widescreen. However, when i tested the file under a different media player, WinDVD 4, the widescreen worked... so i don't know what the deal with that is.
    Thanks for the help Andybno1!

  4. when wmp plays a svcd or mpeg-2 file it doesn't play it like a dvd playing software for some reason. This is common for all mpeg-2 files
