  1. i've been trying to backup my copy of "Black Hawk Down" DVD many times using various bitrates... but i keep getting an error in DVD2SVCD - "could not find user data at i-frame 2067 on file D:\whatever.mpg" & under the bbMPEG its log will say: "calculating 2069 svcd user data scan offsets for file.." if i let this process continue.. the ending bin/cue files will be unusable.

anyone have any ideas? i've successfully made a few backup dvd before.. but this is the first time i kept being unsuccessful after numerous retries.

    thanks in advance.

  2. I am totally stunned that you have the same problem. On my WinXP box with that movie, I get the same problem. It happened today with The Majestic. I set the compression to match Kwag's templates. Even when I try recovery, and change the cut point, it does not help. Anyone who has any ideas, they would be most welcome.

  3. On another forum, someone said that they have the same problem we are having, and they said it disappeared after they unchecked the padding option in the dialog where you set max, min, and avg bitrates. So there you go! I have not tested this, so if you try it out gspeed, let me know on this thread if it works.

  4. Well, I tried turning the padding off, and it did not work. I think that the issue might be the GOP structure. I changed the values to match Kwag's templates. I am now running with the default GOP to see if that helps.

  5. Well goodspeed2, you have not posted any replies, so maybe you don't care about this post anymore, but if anyone is interested, this is the solution: Switch DVD2SVCD to advanced mode, and under the bbMPEG advanced options turn off the scan for SVCD offsets option. That's it. Works fine now. I just played back my copy of "Beautiful Mind", and it plays beautifully . That's all folks.
