  1. hi i have a couple of home movies on my pc,i want to put them on my dvdr and play them on my home dvd player,but i tried and my home dvd player said please insert a difrent disk
    help.....

  2. Usually you would stuff an Avi onto a CD-R or CD-RW as a VCD movie which plays on most standalones.

    If you want to use a DVD, I think you can do the same so long as you have a VCD compliant stream. Use TMPGenc to create this stream (search on google for TMPGenc)

    Make sure the DVD-r disk you are using is of high enough quality to play movies on your standalone. Some of the $1.00 and below disks are nothing more than coasters for keeping your cup o coffee on.

    I use branded Verbatim and Pioneer disks for final creation.

    Assuming you have correctly and properly authored and converted your stuff to valid VCDs/SVCD's the problem may be your player.

    Check here for compatability in reading both your medium and format.
