have people seen better results when u do the audio seperate from MacDVD2divx? i was just wondering because ive been having problems when converting the sound to 160 kb/s in MAcDVD2DivX. today, i was converting the movie Dumb and Dumber, and i somehow finished with perfect video, but the audio was in french! i dont know how this happened, im sure i messed up when i ripped it. thats another question, has anyone experienced better results using yade or dvd extractor instead of OSEx? if someone could fill me in on good paths to take in this process tht would be great, because i still have yet to make a perfect divx movie that will play on mac and pc!

also, i was just curious, which method do most of u use to get your divx you created to play? it seems a lot of u use the 3ivx method-convert it into a new movie using DDII. i think you can also use the divx method-convert it to a new avi using divx validator, which is in the new divx for mac 5.

geez, so many options for everything! in just looking for the best, plz help me out..

Make sure that in the OSEx program on the right side that under Aud that there is only a check box on the track you want. there should be a two-three letter indicator of what language it is. Make sure that ONLY the English track is checked.

I usually don't use the divx codec at all. I mainly export as VCD's, but on my last few movies I've kinda mixed it around. I have played around with the MPEG-4 of Quicktime and it looks better and better everytime I use it. I mainly use OS 9 rippers, but I have found a new OS X decoder that will handle .vob files, so I'll mess with that a litte and if it works I'll have a total OS X process....maybe I'll even wright a new guide for a total OS X VCD, divx, MPEG-4 process.

that would be a great idea, come to think of it, u are right, all these processes can be done in OSX! so u think apple's mpeg-4 is better than divx? i may have to agree, the only thing i know is that instead of making us (mac) go through all this trouble to use these PC-based codec and formats, e.g. MacDVD2DivX, the PC should use OUR codecs and formats. u know? i think video is much better on a mac, but i guess it all comes down to the popuarity of the pc. well, hopefully the mac will soon have its day. i love my mac and id never leave it for a PC, but thats just my opinion.
