Ok, I had to convert the audio from a .avi to the 44,000Hz thing. Then when I tried to dub the new wav audio to a new .avi the program (VirtualDub) said the file would be too big. The file was expected to be a Gb and it suggested I compress the video. What should I do??? I am really confused...

By default VirtualDub defaults to no compression when saving an AVI
It was just giving you reminder that the resulting AVI would be very large
Set a codec to compress the video to a managable size
If you are cleaning up a AVI file - try and match the input codec
You can find it under file information
