  1. Im looking for I-Author, does anyone know where I can get a demo of it or where I can purchase the full product

    You can use I-Author (the version, everybody is using) for VCD too. Don't use I-Author's multiplexer, but multiplex as usual with TMPG or bbMPEG and convert the .mpg to .mps.
    Get mpgXmps here: http://www.doom9.org/Soft21/mpg/mpgXmps_0131.zip
    Open I-Author, select VCD instead of SVCD and go ahead...

    i've had I-author a couple of years but was told the ORIGINAL release had a vcd mux as well as an svcd mux (all these links don't have) this is a quick fix for vcd

  6. What is .mps ?? And also, why use mps instead of mpg ??

    .mps is a special I-Author variation of .mpg. Maybe it is a kind of project file. I'm not sure. Anyway, I-Author work with .mps only. Open it and you will see.

  8. fyi, IAuthor's .mps files are nothing more than precalculated CD sectors with the required subheader and EDC, thus 8+2324+4 = 2336 byte block sized...
