I tried backing up my Top Gun DVD using smartripper, dvd2avi, and using tmpngec to convert it to xvcd format.
I've been doing this more many of my dvd... but when I tried to backup the Top Gun dvd... the Tmpegnec doesn't recognize the d2v file!! It says it's not a valid file. Anyone got ideas? I could see the video fine in dvd2avi...
And then I tried backing up The Legend -Jet Li... The film plays but it seems to keep playing a few frames from a second ago... Checked in DVD2AVI that this thingy occurred even before using TMpegnec!! Strange.
Help!!!

Have you checked that the 30 trial period in TMPGEnc isn't over? Even though you said you have done this before (using DVD2AVI etc.) have you updated some software recently that you are using now? Check if the VFAPI Plugin for DVD2AVI is checked and that you actually have the VFAPI-Plugin for TMPGEnc correctly installed.
