  1. Hello

    Is there any program that can check what kind of movie file I have and the properties of the file, such as resolution, bitrate, 16:9 or 4:3, MPEG1 or MPEG2, ordinary AVI-file or a DivX-Avi-file.

    Yes, in several ways

    1. If you have installed the original mediaplayer form windows (mplayer.exe) you can right-click on some movie files and read the properties. similar check the properties when the file is opened in Windows Media player, v. 6.4 works the best but 7.x is also OK (in my
    opinion)

    2. Though the best option is to get MovieID (freeware, ca. 100 kb) it works for avi, divx, wm, quicktime and real files.
    Make a shortcut to movieidw.exe and place it the Sendto-folder, then you can right-click on any file and send it MovieID and get the info in a notepad window.
