Programs are now telling me im not the admin, i need to log on with admin credentials. Ha san yone ever encountered this before?

But to work im perfect. It always telling me "files are not online available", and "network connection is encountering problems', i always get this at home and its frustrating.

What operating system are you using? It sounds like you just need to log on as a administrator. Log off and log back on with a administrator account.

Dump McAfee. I've seen too many problems with them taking over the system. They have a special uninstall tool, doesn't come with the software, that you can download from their site.

However, since your starting from scratch anyway ( you said you recently formatted), I'd reformat and reinstall. Its actually alot cleaner and more trustworthy. As a good start, I'd substitue Avast, Ad-Aware and Spybot S&D and a router with a NAT and Firewall for McAfee.

Oh, and use a real username this time....

Whats the problem with using my email address @ logon? Does windows look at something differently?

I don't think its disallowed per se, but... I'd worry about what special characters would do to the OS when its keeping track of processes running, object ownership, permissions. There may be some logic that kicks in when it sees an email address (I'm sure there is) and tries to apply it to your logon. It may be the answer to your admin problems. Yet another reason to start from scratch.

Its a gut feel but it just doesn't seem right.

If it's just you using your computer I would just remove any other accounts, and not make it password protected. If you have good protection like a router or something of that nature there is no real need to have it password protected.

p.s. there is also a master administrator account under safe mode in winxp thats probably controlling your login by the sounds of things. Might want to get into that administrator account and make double sure that your regular administrator account is set up correctly.
