  1. I have a few .avi files on CD-R that I am trying to convert to VCD format to watch on my DVD player since all I can do with them now is sit at the computer...

I have done this several times already with no problem (using the WONDERFUL guides on this site). Anyway, today I opened VirtualDub, pressed the right buttons, and started the saving to WAV format in order to get my audio ready for encoding later.

About 75 MB into the saving, I got a message saying that there was an error with decompression of the audio (200). The file details are the same as all the others I have done according to VirtualDub.

I tried again a few times and got the same message every time. I assume there is a problem with the original .avi file since I have had no trouble doing this before. If there is a problem with the original file, what do I do? Or, what else could it be, and how do I fix it?

I have 3.11 DiVX, DiVX 4 and 5, plus most of the other codecs - but I don't think that's the problem.
I have VirtualDub, TMPGEnc, FireBurner (although I have problems with that) and CDRWin.

    Thanks in advance!

  2. Okay, I found a similar post with a similar problem on another page, so I am going to try that. But, my file information shows details about the audio - not an unknown value like the guide page states. I'll just have to see what happens!
    Thanks!
