  1. I'm trying to burn an 85 minute movie onto one CD using Nero 5.5. Nero keeps telling me the movie is too long and ejecting the CD. Per Nero, my drive does not support overburning. Also, I bought 99 min CD-R's, but Nero recognizes them as the same size as the 80 minute ones.

Is there anyway to fit this movie onto the CD? I've read of techniques to reduce file size by reducing the audio or video quality, but this won't change the movie length, so Nero will still give me the same error, no?

Any advice would be greatly appreciated.

  2. Hi,
99 min CDs are overburned 80 min CDs.
Your drive must support overburn and DAO to burn them.
First of all you must tell what movie you have. A VCD or SVCD or is it a DivX?
Then somebody could tell you how to reencode.
    Or look at the guides.

    Sorry, that is totally incorrect! 80min CD-R's are 80min CD-R's and +90min CD-R's are +90min CD-R's. It is impossible to make a 80min CD-R into a +90min CD-R just by overburning!!!

  4. Thanks for replying. I am trying to create a VCD, it was created with TMPGEnc, using Sefy's SeVCD template.

  5. I had this problem with 90 CDR's I emailed the manufacture of the drive to see if there was a firm ware update or something to overburn. They (HP) said they didn't have any at this time. I think everyone will produce software for there drives as the bigger CDR's become more popular. I finally broke down and bought the new TDK 24x10x40 burner it's sweet. Good Luck. My friend has the Plextor 16x10x? and it supports over burn as well.
