  1. Hi
I am helping a friend to convert his DV tapes to VCD today using CDR. His DVD player model is Pioneer DV-K101. But it cannot be watch at his DVD player. His dad is kind of scarastic that it cannot be seen. sigh...

When i search thru this website, i realised from previous reports that CDR cannot be used.

I'm now trying to do it again and want to do it correct in case his dad does it again....These are the steps..pls comment.

The video cam is Panasonic NV-DS25.

The software used to convert is Ulead VideoStudio 4.0 SE. What i use is this format when i choose.

    Microsoft AVI Files
    24 Bits, 720 x 480, 29.97 fps
DV Video Encoder -- type 1
Interleave audio for every 1 frames
PCM, 48,000 Hz, 16 Bit, Stereo

After converting it, i will use TMPEG to convert it to mpg, not sure wat settings but i use the default one.

Then i use Nero Burner to burn it to VCD using a duraplus CDRW (the only one i have within short notice).

Will the above work? or did i do anything wrong? i heard something about MPEG1 or MPEG2 for DVD players. Do i need to use MPEG2?

Sorry, i am still a newbie in all these. pls help if possible. would not want to hear scarastic remarks or fail again when i think i have try my best.

    Thanks !! and Regards.

  2. I also forget to mention that what happen at my friend's house is that the DVD player's disc tray will just open when i insert in the VCD i made. while his other discs are okay. I think they are also other VCDs?

So far I haven't gotten any cd-r's to work but I got Samsung CD-RW to work in it... burned VCDs from bin/cue files... mpeg burning to vcd doesn't work...
Saw this from the comments about Pioneer DV-K101 .

May i know wat is bin/cue files? and how do i do that?

    Thanks again.
