How do I prevent the audio from skipping on my Apex 1100w. I have been trying to use Kwags templates for most of my encodes, but I just can't seem to get them working on my player. The audio skips every 2-4 seconds. I know this is a common problem for most people with Apex machines, but I have yet to find a post that could correct this problem.
If there is no solution to this problem, are there any other templates that work with this type of player.
Thanks!

i heard that some of the older apex players skip because of the burn speed. try burning a vcd/svcd at 2x just for kicks and see if it helps....

I actually went as low as 1x, but I still got the same results. Thanks for the reply though.

I have had problems in the past and my fix was I kept the audio at 224 tried different bitrate but I would get the skip thing going. I hope this helps out. Like they say you don't know until you try...... Nothing to lose any way.

i've had the same problems on my apex using different types of CDR's. i would give you two recommendations:
1) try some different cdr's which i'm sure you have. i personally use the black memorex 700 meg CDR's and every single one have worked.
2) i would recommend using vcdeasy for image burning. most players like the images created by vcdeasy over nero or some other svcd burning software. my timelines get screwed up in nero but vcdeasy creates a fully compliant svcd. -
I'll have to try vcdeasy instead of Nero. I do use Memorex though, so I know its not that. Thanks for the advice!!
Anyone else?? -
I just tried VCDeasy and still the same result
. O well, I guess its back to the normal templates. Great results by Kwag btw. Too bad they are not compatible with apex models.

I've got a Apex AD-1500 and I've had the audio problem with Kwags template. I've fixed it by captureing at 352x240 and I use the KVCDx2 one cd template. It works fine now on mine.
If you have any quesitons e-mail me or something and I will try to help. -
The main problem is that the Apex 1100-w(as well as most Apex's), is that they DO NOT support the framerate of 23.976fps. All NTSC videos have to be (re)encoded to 29.97fps to properly function on the Apex. If IVTC is needed, just use the "30fps, flicker priority" option on the IVTC option under the Advanced tab of TMPG.
If you are converting a PAL video to NTSC, also encode it to 29.97fps.
