I'm trying to transfer my SVCD copy of Spiderman to a VCD.
I can convert the .dat file into an Mpeg but the size of the file is to large to fit on an 80min disk
However the SVCD is on an 80min disk and I can't understand how it fits on there as the MPEG is the same size as the DAt file.
Can anybody help me out on this one?

    - make sure you have the mpeg2 codec installed
    - use VCDgear to break the mpegs out of the bin files.
    - load the mpeg's into TMPEGnc with the VCD template and convert them to VCD
    - use TMPEGEnc to merge the 3 mpegs into 1
    - use TMPGEnc to cut the 1 big MPEG into 2 vcd's
    - burn

  8. leejarman:
    How well over 750mb?

because you should be able to fit about 800mb
    without overburning.

And regardless, if you havent altered the .dat/.mpg file
    from the spiderman release anything,
it will fit, I know it did for me.

Just load it up in nero as svcd,
and itīll burn ok on a 80min cd.

I don't want to burn as an SVCD though, they won't wpork on my DVD player.
Sorry if I'm sounding a bit thick.

  10. take the mpeg-2 svcd file, and single-multiplex it to mpeg-1 vcd in TMPGenc. then burn it as a non-compliant vcd in Nero. your dvd player should be able to read it now... mine does

  11. i'm confused (what else is new)....I'm attempting to do the same thing:

I have the 3-disc svcd of spiderman. I try to copy the mpg file to my
harddrive, and then mask it with a vcd header (cause my dvd player
won't play svcd) as in the geocities help site...
    http://www.geocities.com/newestmoviesencode/dvdvcd.
BUT, the directions say that the file has to be in MPEG-1 Video-CD type...
but that doesn't make sense because if you're attempting this "trick",
wouldn't it be because you're using a svcd...and therefore the
    type WON'T be a MPEG-1 Video-CD ?

i'm confused. Any help or new method would help!

  13. sooooo....

    If I do this:

    1. Copy the SVCD file to my harddrive
    2. Create the two files with dvd2avi
    3. Create the SVCD MPEG file with the 2 files (from step #2) in TMPGEnc
    4. Put a VCD Header on the file with MPEG TOOLS in TMPGEnc
    5. Burn the VCD with Nero

Am I still getting SVCD quality when I burn?
