  1. Hi, My spec is this,

    Cyrix3 650Mhz CPU,
    320Mb Ram,
    TNT2 Video Card (32mb AGP),

    My system will not play a DivX and I have about 30 movies as well

    Please can sombody advise......when i play a DivX movie the picture Lags behind the sound, it plays fine for about 2 seconds then freezes and then plays again for another 2/3secs then freezes again.....is there some kind of patch or some utility that can make it play on my machine? or have I set somthing up wrong or somthing?

  2. Have you tried other players, which one do you use. I use media player but there are many more players you could try.
    I can't imagine it being a hardware problem 650 should be plenty I have played them on 350MH and have had no problems

    One minor detail to keep in mind here is that the Cyrix 650 isn't what you'd call a high performance chip. ( No religious chip wars please ) Benchmarks have shown it to be a fairly capable business machine but mutimedia and gaming.....not so good.

    I don't know what you're using as a player. Some of the made for DIVX ones can often do a better job than the Windows Media Player so it might pay to experiment with some of those.

    Other than that, try a few of the optimization sites to try and tweak a bit more speed out of your machine. Seeing as DIVX is mainly CPU dependant, you may even want to look at overclocking. Note that this is not a recommendation. Only a possibility.
