    I wouldn't get a combo. Do you want one for the space, or for the price? Also, If one breaks, the other goes too probably (or at least your without it while half of it gets fixed) Get seperate components, their better and you can pick and choose want features you want in each.

    The Samsung DVD-V1000 plays both vcds and svcds. The 16 reviewers on this site give it a favorable 7.4 average. There is also a DVD-V2000 but I don't know it's capabilities having never seen it in person or reviewed on this site.
    I presently have a post requesting feedback on all or any dvd/vcr combos as I would like to get one for the bedroom. Like you I'm looking for one that supports vcds/svcds and so on but I also would like one with a hack code. Good luck with your purchase and let us know how you made out.
