  1. Hi!

I have an .avi file which I try to convert it into an .mpg
    (TMPGE)

Everything is going fine but in the .mpg there is no sound.

So I use VirtualDub to save the audio as a wave - like
in the help-report. But there is also no sound. I use the
toollame - same effect. DivX 3.1 and 4 is installed.

Where is my mistake? thx for help!
    (sorry for this bad english)

  2. In Virtualdub go look at the file information - it should list the codecs used in the AVI.

If you see audio type "2000" or other unidentified audio it might be AC3 which is becoming more popular. If so use the guide on this site for Divx to MPG conversion with AC3 audio. The WAV extraction only works well for other audio types like MP3. http://forum.vcdhelp.com/userguides/91588.php

  3. I'm fairly new tovideo editing also and had a similar problem.
Heres how i fixed my problem,

    1. Open windows audio properties and make sure the line in is selected for your recording properties. This is something thats very simple to overlook.

This worked for me, hopes it helps.
