    I re-installed XP clean boot. No upgrade.

    Now things are great, but sometimes the mouse locks up and the system stops working.

    No warning or errors


    Ney ideas to fix this

  2. you might want to check the irq's on the mouse..

    start/setting/control panel/system/hardware/device manager/view/device by type/+interupt request

    and you also may want to check the irq's for your other devices, in specific the graphics adapter you're using. try driver upgrades for your devices and windows upgrades.

  3. goto your mouse (company) site and download the latest driver... or from windows...

  4. I've had this a few times in XP.
    If the above don't work then next time it happens reboot into your boot options menu (f8 at post...) and select debugging mode.

    Let it boot through that and then restart normally again.

    This has allways sorted it for me.
