  1. help!

i downloaded a movie from edonkey with 670x272 and tried to encode w/ tmpgenc using kvcd2 (cd2) template, i did change the min bitrate to 500 and cq: 80

when i played it back on my dvd player (daewoo 5800) it doesnt play it correctly...flickers on the top half of my tv screen.

    what am i doing wrong?

  2. 640x272 is NOT a legal pixel size for a DVD player. You will have to convert the frame size to 720 or 704x480 and get a legal frame rate. You can do all of this in Tmpgenc (if you know how).

  5. The KVCDX2 templates should have the size already at 720 or 704x480 by defauly depending on whether you are using the pal or ntsc version of the template so your output file should have on of those resolutions already check to so if it does. if it does then maybe something else is wrong.

  8. Try 640x480, I believe your player would play it correctly! That is the same size of your movie with just black spaces added on the top and bottom. You may try to convert only 1 min for sure.

  11. what about video source settings:

    video source type:non-interlace (progressive)
field order:bottom field first (field b)
    source aspect ratio: 1:1 (VGA)

video arrange method:full screen (keep aspect ratio)

would this have anything to do?

  12. It looks OK. Both In and Out Aspect Ratio should be 1:1 in this case.
