  1. Hi,
I made a VCD onto a CD-R (80mins) using Nero 5.5.5 but it won't play in my DVD player. I made another one on a CD-RW disk and it played fine but I had to finalise it, which meant that it was a waste of the disk. Please could you tell me if you know of a reason why my CD-R disk won't play because otherwise it is going to be really expensive!
    Thanks in advance
    Jessie

P.S. The DVD player also won't play CDs I've burned even though it will play shop bought CDs. Hope that helps you!

Sony DVD player by any chance?

Your player is picky about the media - CDRWs have different reflective characteristics than CD-Rs and are more likely to play on some players.

Check the DVD compatibility table on this site to see if there is a specific brand of CD-Rs that will work on your player.

  3. You guessed correctly - Sony! Thanks for the tip though. I've had a look at the user feedback on my player and I'll try out some other discs. Thanks for your help.

I have problems with cr-wr on my DVD player. After I have use a cd-wr 8 or 9 time the DVD player will not read the files so be carefull. They work fine on a PC but the DVD player has a problem reading them.
