  1. I have just installed a pioneer A03 and it is not recognised by Nero, uprgaded the firmware to 1.8 from Pioneer still no different, When You go to select writer the Pioneer has a red line through and cannot be selected.

    Sure it does... you probably have a problem with the installation of your drive. What does Windows report?

  4. You might want to check if the drive is operating in DMA or PIO Only mode. Whatever its on now, switch to the other and reboot. It's a common problem and is discussed on Pioneer's website.

  5. Its boots in dos reporting PI0 how do you change it to DMA?

    The A03 can only operate in PIO mode. What does the Windows Hardware Manager say about this drive? Can you put a CD-ROM into it and read stuff on it?

  7. It burns fine in windows XP with XP's own burn software but not nero

    That's incorrect. The drive is fully capable of running in DMA (mode-2) as well.

    Hummm, the DVR-A04 says that it supports UDMA-33. There is no mention of the A03 being likewise compatible (but I don't own one, so I can't do any testing/experiments).
